What is the single largest cause of sick leave in the UK? The answer is not the common cold or flu，but back pain．Back pain affects one in three British adults，costs the country over 5 billion pounds every year and is very difficult to treat．But now Britain’s National Health Service(NHS)will be offering a new solution：acupuncture．The ancient Chinese needle therapy(疗法)has been around in the UK for many years，but this is the first time it has been officially approved by the NHS’s advisory body，the National Institute for Clinical Excellence(NICE)．

Traditionally，doctors in the UK have advised back pain sufferers to stay active，do stretching exercises and take painkillers when necessary and in more serious cases some people are given X—ray treatment or injections with therapeutic substances．

NICE，however，say there is evidence that acupuncture may be more effective than expensive X-rays or injections，so patients who have been suffering for over six weeks should be given a choice．As an alternative to acupuncture，patients will be able to choose for either a course of spinal manipulation(脊柱推拿术)，or a series of special exercise sessions．In the UK，acupuncture is classed as a complementary therapy，which is the term given to a medical procedure which hasn’t received the strict trials by which scientists prove some treatments work．

While many experts have welcomed the move to make acupuncture available on the NHS，some are still doubtful about its effectiveness．Research from the US earlier this month found that using toothpicks could be as good as using real needles．So while some are yet to be convinced，back pain sufferers will be hoping that acupuncture helps get them feeling healthy and mobile again．Employers，on the other hand，will be hoping it gets them back to work．

How many times have parents had to argue with their young son or daughter about getting their face out of their phone and focusing on the world around them? It’s completely normal for parents of growing children to be concerned about their child’s safety，but is their addiction to social media really harming them?

Social media was created to connect people with others online and has recently been added to smartphones，making it far more accessible than it originally was．This new way to easily be able to use social media has encouraged children and teens to begin to use sites such as Facebook，Twitter，and Instagram frequently．Maturing teens and children are usually very timid(胆怯)when it comes to socializing with their families，which they sometimes view as“annoying”．So，what do these kids use as a solution or an“escape”?The answer is simple．social media．

However，when they use social media for a large amount of time，parents tend to show concern for their child and blame social media for demanding their attention．

The word，“social”，was entered into the term，social media，for a reason．Parents of growing teens don’t seem to understand that．When they see their child using Twitter or Instagram they think that they are using it to get away from real world responsibilities．The truth，however，is that they are using it to connect with their close friends，make new friends，and receive information about what is currently happening in the modern world．

Children and teens are wrongly accused for using social media only for entertainment purposes and for huge amounts of time．Sure everyone who uses social media enjoys contacting their friends and viewing entertaining things，but how come children receive all of the blame for abusing it? Parents should really think about how social media can help children and teens learn and grow in the real world rather than it just being another distraction(分心事)．

Social media as a whole has both positive and negative aspects，but after all of the feedback from pre-teens，teens，and parents is put together，it shows that media is actually helping the newer generations in their lives．

On March 24，2016 the great Dutch footballer Johan Cruyff passed away after a long bale with cancer，who was widely regarded as one of the greatest players in football history and the three-time World Player of the Year．

“Words can hardly be found for this huge loss．”The Dutch FA said．King Willem Alexander of the Netherlands said，“The country has lost a unique and brilliant sportsman．”Gary Lineker in Barcelona club added：“Football has lost a man who did more to make the beautiful game more beautiful than anyone in history．”

Holland’s friendly match against France on Friday will stop after 14 minutes for a minute-long silence in honor of Cruyff，who wore No.14 as a player．

Johan Cruyff was born in April in Amsterdam，Netherlands．Growing up near the stadium of AFC Ajax，the local soccer club，the youngster caught the attention of a team official and joined the youth division at age 10．His mother also began working for the club two years later，after her husband died of a heart attack．

Cruyff scored 293 goals in 521 appearances for five different clubs．With his precise speed，technique and goal-scoring ability，Cruyff set new standards as a player．

He eventually coached the Catalan club to a first European Cup champion in 1992．Besides，Barcelona won four continuous La Liga titles from 1991 to 1994 under Cruyff，who remained influential at the club even after he abdicated his post in 1995．

Although Johan Cruyff gave up smoking after his heart surgery，Cruyff was diagnosed with lung cancer．He died peacefully in Barcelona aged 68．His unique and profound views for football and life still inspire whoever loves football，“Playing football is very simple，but playing simple football is the hardest thing there is．”“I don’t believe in God．In Spain，all 22 players cross themselves．If it works，the game is always going to be of the same score．”“Quality without results is pointless．Results without quality is boring．”
